There is a Lot of Information Online
(we've curated a list of helpful links)
IF YOU REALLY NEED MORE INFORMATION...
The internet has no shortage of "Experts" willing to share their thoughts on everything solar-related so we wanted to try to give you a little clarity. First, many of the sites earn money through the sale of your information. If you fill out any kind of contact form they will turn around and try to sell it to us for hundreds of dollars. Or, in the case of Solarreviews.com, solar companies and equipment manufacturers can "register" to have a profile, etc. Not knocking the quality of the information provided there, just something to keep in mind when reading that and Energysage.com.
Pretty much EVERYTHING on social media is an advertisement, either by a solar installer or a marketing firm, and EVERY site with a "solar savings calculator" is selling your information.
As far as "relatively independent" sites that we have found useful:
Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA)
U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)
We will endeavor to expand on this explanation in the future.
